This is about the “Please help the Jizo statue” request from peke, which we covered in April as part of Nishitsu Detective.

I feel like peke’s strong feelings for the Jizo statue, along with the valuable information from Talon, were major reasons that Detective! Knight Scoop decided to take action.
I read your article about the Jizo statue by the Tsutogawa River.
When I passed that road the day after the heavy rain and strong winds had been raging, it was gone.
The next day, when the river water had gone down and I looked at the riverbed, there was the Jizo statue wearing a red bib, sitting in the river!
I thought maybe it had snapped and fallen because of the strong wind, but when I went to look again just now, there was a bit of distance between where it had been enshrined and the river, so I also wondered if someone might have dropped it in as a prank.
Since about a week has passed since then, the Jizo statue has become quite buried in sand, and it’s now hard to visually confirm.
