We often stop by 関寿庵, one of our Nishi2 partners. This time, I tried three items that made me go “ooh,” so I’ll introduce them briefly.
Here they are↓

Peeled Tianjin Roasted Chestnuts 173 yen (tax included)
These peeled roasted chestnuts are super easy to eat. It’s pretty rare to find ones that are organically grown and additive-free, isn’t it?

This is about how much you get inside.
And they’re soft. They have such a natural sweetness. I like these! The kind you want to snack on little by little.

I want to eat a lot more!! There’s also a larger bag with four small packs inside for 648 yen, which is a slightly better deal.
Next up is this↓

Sake Financier 1 piece 173 yen (tax included)
I think financiers are a very classic Nishinomiya treat, but this one is something else. It’s not just a different flavor.

First of all, this. It’s soaked with sake. It’s different from a regular financier.

Take one bite and a fruity aroma spreads right out! What is it? It smells kind of like banana. Mysterious!!

Of course, they also come in souvenir-size boxes. A box of 5 is 1,082 yen, and a box of 10 is 2,109 yen. Might be nice for Father’s Day.
Next is this↓

Seedless plum? This one looked kind of interesting.

Since they’re made with Nanko plums, they’re larger and thicker and fleshier than regular dried plums. They’re not too sweet, just the right sweetness, and easy to eat.

They’re perfect for replenishing salt in summer, and it’s nice that they’re individually wrapped.

関寿庵 sells unique foods kind of like a roadside station.
Here’s the map↓
The address is 3-5 Imazu Dezaikecho, Nishinomiya, Hyogo.
If you’re going from Imazu Station, check out Shachomi’s catchy, slightly calculated song about going to 関寿庵.

I’ll be going back soon to buy more chestnuts, so if you happen to run into Shachomi, feel free to say hi~~
Sorry, the chestnuts are currently sold out and waiting to be restocked. Oh no, this is a problem💦 As of 5/31
