A Japanese sweets shop called “笹外郎屋(Sasa Uiroya)” has opened in Nishida-cho, under the Hankyu railway tracks.
(Thanks to Amazon-san, Kaeitsu @ Nishitsu SP, kid3-san, and Horutama-san for the tips.)
Here it is ↓

It looks like it opened yesterday, Sunday, July 7. “Sasa” (bamboo leaves) and Tanabata make a perfect match〜🎋
Here it is on the map ↓
The address is 1-3 Nishida-cho, Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture.
What’s around “笹外郎屋”

It’s on the south side of Hankyu Shukugawa Sun Life, under the Hankyu tracks.

Across from it is Kida Acupuncture Clinic.

If you go this way, you’ll reach Route 171.

If you go in the opposite direction, you’ll find places like sen no Daidokoro, and if you keep going, you’ll reach the Osawa Nishinomiya Line.
We got a quick look inside the shop
Kaeitsu, a Nishitsu supporter, went inside for a quick look〜.

So many flowers. It looks like lots of people are cheering them on〜

They also have some really nice plates.

More here too! Apparently they also sell tableware. Maybe that’s uiro in the photo?

Kaeitsu-san had the cold-brewed hojicha, and said it was so good they drank it all at once〜.

It looks like there are four flavors of sasa uiro. I want to try the amanatsu so badly〜〜〜

It comes wrapped in bamboo leaves, giving it a really authentic feel.

They tried the azuki flavor. Apparently it was jiggly, not too sweet, and delicious〜. Uiro is apparently very jiggly
Update 7/9
Usapi, a Nishitsu reader, also went〜.

Comment from Usapi-san
It was already past closing time at 4 p.m., but when I arrived in front of the shop by 🚴♀️, the owner came out from inside with a smile and said, “We only have shiro left, but if you’d like…” and invited my daughter and me inside.

It was an elegant uiro with a gentle sweetness that made me feel like I could eat several.
My daughter, who had never had uiro before, also seemed completely hooked, saying, “It’s jiggly and delicious〜.”
I can’t wait to try the other flavors!!
(The cold-brewed hojicha was also delicious, so I bought some tea leaves too😊)
By the way, it seems they often sell out in this order: limited-time flavor (currently amanatsu) → azuki → matcha → shiro.
They said, “Maybe all the flavors are available in the morning…?”

Finally
Apparently, the owner decided to make sasa uiro after watching the TV program “Professional: Shigoto no Ryugi.” That’s some amazing drive〜. If you’re curious about what “sasa uiro” is like, definitely check it out. Once things settle down, they also plan to open a cafe serving Japanese tea and wagashi〜
Amazon-san, Kaeitsu @ Nishitsu SP, kid3-san, and Horutama-san, thank you for the information!!
