A blue chick?!
Apparently, this is an omikuji fortune. It is available for an initial offering of 1,000 yen.
It seems to be modeled after a bird called the “red-flanked bluetail,” which is often seen in the Hirota forest.

It really does have an unusual color. If I spotted one, I feel like I’d get excited and think, “Whoa, there’s some rare-looking bird!”
When I looked up the red-flanked bluetail online, it was described as a “blue bird of happiness.” Apparently, this color appears on adult males. It is smaller than a sparrow. The color is ruri-iro (lapis lazuli blue), a deep purple, and it seems to be a vivid blue.

When I looked into why it is called the “blue bird of happiness,” it seems that blue feathers symbolize “good luck” and “happiness,” and seeing its beautiful appearance warms the heart and makes people feel happy.
According to peke, who sent us the tip (the person who requested the Jizo statue Detective! Knight Scoop story), the ceramic bird was so cute that they couldn’t help buying it for 1,000 yen. The Kenjumori amulet was also really beautiful before, and with more and more shrine items that make you want them, I’d love to see the development stories behind them.
