Miyagao No. 11 features
Chef Toru Nakagawa of
CARBONIERA DEL TORO,
which we also introduced in our “Show Us Your Shop” article!
Chef Toru Nakagawa!
Here is our “Show Us Your Shop” article about CARBONIERA DEL TORO. ▼

Chef Nakagawa was born and raised in Nishinomiya.
Before opening his restaurant,
CARBONIERA DEL TORO,
Chef Nakagawa trained in authentic Italian cuisine in Italy for about five years.
After returning to Japan, he further honed his skills at Italian restaurants in Nagoya and Kobe.

And CARBONIERA DEL TORO
has now entered its 13th year since opening.

CARBONIERA DEL TORO is filled with lots of cow figurines.
The name TORO means “bull” in Italian,
so customers apparently bring in cow figurines for the shop.

Various figurines near the register.
That just goes to show how loved
CARBONIERA DEL TORO is by its customers.
The CARBONIERA DEL TORO website is here.

(While I was taking photos of the cow figurines, Chef Nakagawa jumped into the shot and posed with them♪)
You can really feel that Chef Nakagawa is loved by his customers
because he is so friendly and easy to talk to!
Now, let’s get to the questions!

I lived here for 19 years.

So, what’s your favorite place in Nishinomiya?

The beautiful sandy beach is great!

Next question!
Do you have any recommended shops in Nishinomiya?

I didn’t know there was a place in Nishinomiya where you could eat Akashiyaki.
Now then, please say a few words to Nishinomiya!

Everyone from celebrities to everyday locals is mixed together.
That diversity is what makes it fun!

so through Nishinomiya Tsushin,
Miyatama wants to experience the many different sides of Nishinomiya
and share through articles that
“Nishinomiya is interesting!”
Changing the subject quite a bit,
where in Nishinomiya did you go to kindergarten, elementary school, junior high, and high school?

Koyoen Elementary School
Nishinomiya Municipal Taisha Junior High School
Nishinomiya Kita High School

We’d play our way from downstream up toward upstream.

I’m a man who loves Nishinomiya more than anything and just can’t help it.
I love Nishinomiya!

helped ease Miyatama’s nerves,
and on top of that, his great energy and
Kansai-style witty comebacks were the best!(笑)
His personality really shines through in the restaurant,
and I felt that Chef Nakagawa himself is truly loved by so many customers!
Chef Nakagawa, thank you very much!
In addition to our shop introduction article,
we also have a lunch tasting report article about CARBONIERA DEL TORO.
Please check that out as well♪

Chef Toru Nakagawa, thank you so much!
Look forward to Miyagao No. 12 next time☆
