Is this a softshell turtle?

Today, Nishitsu reader “Tuna-chan” photographed what looks like a softshell turtle in the Mitarashi River near the Hirota Jinja-mae bus stop.

The address is around 9 Taishacho, Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture.

It looks like there’s something like a stone on its back. Or maybe it’s a deformity. It does have that smooth-looking feel.

This is a softshell turtle that was previously in Mikuruma Pond on Kabutoyama.
