It looks like City Hall counter services will start closing earlier, at 5:00 p.m., from this November.

Here it is ↓
The reception closing time for counter services at City Hall’s main building, branch offices, and other facilities will reportedly be moved up from this November, changing from the current 5:30 p.m. to 30 minutes earlier, ending at 5:00 p.m.
It looks like 148 departments and facilities will be affected.
Reasons for the Shorter Hours
- According to the city’s survey, visitors after 5:00 p.m. make up only about 2% of the total on average
- More administrative procedures are now available online, improving convenience
- To reduce the workload on staff
- Expected savings on personnel costs

The Central Community Center and the Gender Equality Center, both located inside Prela Nishinomiya in Nishinomiya-Kitaguchi, will also reportedly shorten their hours to 5:00 p.m.
In addition, the Ikeda Government Building, East Building, West Building, and South Building will close 15 minutes earlier, around 6:00 p.m.
Finally

With the hours shortened by 30 minutes, it may become a little harder for people who used to rush in just before closing. By the way, Ashiya City Hall also seems to be shortening its counter service hours by 30 minutes starting September 2. Maybe that’s just the way things are going these days〜😃
