Here’s what the area around Shukugawa looked like during today’s sudden downpour around 5 p.m.
It seems lightning struck somewhere near Shukugawa. The thunder was rumbling so intensely and the rain was so heavy that people at Shukugawa Station and Green Town were at a total loss.

Quoted from nishinomiya.tenki.ne.jp
Actually, the Shukugawa area saw a maximum of 23 mm per hour, but Naruo and Koshien were apparently hit much harder, with nearly 50 mm of rain. I also saw reports that the inside of Koshien Stadium was flooded.

Even the area around the stadium had practically turned into a small river. This is what happens when nearly 50 mm of rain falls in an hour.
There was also information that around 2,000 households in the Koshien area lost power, possibly due to lightning.
Shachomi happened to be at Shukugawa Green Town too, so we also did a livestream to show what it was like.
