We picked up some slightly unusual croissants from “カリクロ,” a croissant specialty shop that just opened on Thursday, September 19 for a limited-time pop-up inside Hankyu Nishinomiya-kitaguchi Station.

This shop will be here for a limited time until November 30〜(Nishi2 originally wrote by mistake that it was a permanent shop🙏)
“カリクロ”’s “Egg Custard” and “Fresh Chocolate Cream”
We went ahead and bought some〜

They come in suuuch a cute bag〜

Egg Custard 330 yen(tax included)
Fresh Chocolate Cream 350 yen(tax included)

This is the Fresh Chocolate Cream. It has chocolate powder on top!

The key to making this croissant extra delicious is the toaster oven. You absolutely should use one.

I thought I had preheated it and toasted it for 1 minute 30 seconds, but it got a little burnt〜〜💦 But actually, that turned out to be just fine.

The outside was super crispy, and thanks to the bit of charring, it had a nice balance without being too sweet! Plus, the inside was still a little cold, which made for a really mysterious sensation. I like chocolate, and this had the kind of chocolate flavor you get in chocolate bread, which I really enjoyed. The custard was a sure thing too〜

Fresh cream and custard cream sandwiched between pao dough and croissant dough.

They even have rusks. The cheesecake one is unusual.

There’s also this 4-piece set.

They’ll put them in this cute bag for you. Great as a souvenir or gift.

The best-before date is two days after purchase〜

After trying it, I totally understand why it’s been featured.

It’s only available for a limited time until the end of November, so if you’re curious, be sure to check it out〜 I’d been curious about it since it came to Gardens for a limited time before, and I’m glad I finally went.
