When will this happen?
January 31, 2025 (Reiwa 7)
Which police boxes will be abolished?
The following five police boxes in Nishinomiya City will be abolished and merged into other police boxes.
- Kawazoe Police Box will be abolished → merged into Ichiniwa Police Box

- Kitaguchi Nishi Police Box will be abolished → merged into Nishinomiya Chuo Police Box

- Kobubashi Police Box will be abolished → merged into Kotoen Police Box

Also, the Kitaguchi Nishi Police Box facility will reportedly be transferred to Hyogo Prefecture and used as a station for “guidance officers to prevent touting and similar activities” in the northwest area of Hankyu Nishinomiya-Kitaguchi Station.
By the way, within the Nishinomiya Police Station jurisdiction, Komatsu Police Box will also be abolished on the same day and merged into Hongo Police Box.

When it comes to police boxes, I think people probably visit them most often when they’ve lost something or found something. To avoid going there thinking it still exists and then going, “Wait, it’s gone😱,” it’s worth checking which police boxes will be closing.
