Here they are ↓

The numbers 5001 and 5025 are the model numbers of the retiring Blue-Bodied Train cars. With names like Mukogawa Sharyo and Nishinomiya written on them, these trains have a strong connection to Nishinomiya, so you’ll want to keep one as a souvenir.
There are three products
- Two-Piece Car Number Plate Keychain [5001]
- Two-Piece Car Number Plate Keychain [5025]
- Destination Sign Keychain
They’re 800 yen including tax, available in limited quantities, and sales end once they sell out, so grab one soon.
Where they’re sold
- Osaka-Umeda
- Amagasaki
- Koshien
- Mikage
- Kobe-Sannomiya
- Shinkaichi
At the stationmaster’s offices at the stations above, or at the Tetsudo Koshien Online Shop.
Also, the N gauge model of the Blue-Bodied 5001 series was newly on sale too.

Here’s what the privately chartered 5001 series train looked like at Koshien on January 20. The plan costs 770,000 yen per group. Up to 100 people can ride, though.

Blue-Bodied Train timetable through February 6

For February 7 onward, you should be able to find it by clicking “Notice” under News Releases / Notices on the official website.
Finally
There aren’t many old trains like this left, and chances to ride one are pretty rare, so it might be worth aiming for one last ride as a memory. Ahhh, personally, I’m starting to feel like I don’t want to say goodbye either…
*Twilight-san and Kagayaki 509-go-san, thank you for the information!
