We Tried Sushi at Sushi Takamasa in Kurakuen-guchi【Nishitsu Gourmet】

I went to enjoy some extra-nice sushi at “鮨たかまさ,” located on the 1st floor of the Mukunoki Building in Kurakuen-guchi.

The chef, who trained at “おおはた” in Kitashinchi and “鮨まつ本” in Kurakuen, carefully prepares each piece of sushi by hand.

The Omakase Course at “鮨たかまさ”

The beer is Heartland.

The first thing served was ginkgo nuts.

Sea bream and surf clam.

Chawanmushi topped with plenty of salmon roe♪

Filefish with liver.

Marinated Spanish mackerel.

Silver pomfret marinated in Saikyo miso.

Ankimo.

I feel like I could drink forever with just this ankimo.

I want it bottled…

Mozuku seaweed in vinegar.

Sake is the best pairing for sushi, but this time I also tried a little wine.

If you ask about drinks, they’ll tell you all sorts of helpful recommendations.

From here, the nigiri begins.

The slightly firm sushi rice has the perfect balance of vinegar and salt!

The pairing between the topping and rice is outstanding!

Personally, the rice was so incredibly delicious that I’d happily eat a whole bowl of just the sushi rice!!

I also had sparkling wine, which pairs well with sea urchin.

My style was alternating between sake and wine lol

I also had a soup dish, but toward the second half I was getting tipsy, so I may have forgotten to take photos of some of the other nigiri.

Since they only offer courses, it might be perfect for special occasions like anniversaries.

I was so happy to enjoy such wonderfully luxurious sushi.
