When is it happening?

Until Sunday, April 6, scheduled from sunset to 21:00
*It may end earlier depending on the cherry blossom blooming conditions

Where is it happening?

Along the Shukugawa River near Kurakuenguchi Station

If it’s like previous years, I think the trees were lit up around this area🌸

The Kurakuen-Shukugawa Marche is also being held at the same time

During the event, it looks like you can enjoy special deals on food and services perfect for cherry blossom viewing at 24 shops in the Kurakuen and Shukugawa area!

Fried chicken, ice cream, takoyaki, coffee, and more. Perfect to enjoy while viewing the blossoms😄

What is the current blooming status?

This shows a cherry tree just south of Shukugawa Station as of the night of Wednesday, 3/26.

Overall, the buds on the trees were swelling, and we also spotted some trees with a few blossoms starting to bloom here and there.

According to the blooming information on the Nishinomiya City website, as of 3/26 the status was also “buds swelling”🙌

By the way, last year it was also listed as “buds swelling” on 3/26, then started blooming on 3/30, reached 30% bloom on 4/3, 70% bloom on 4/5, and full bloom on 4/8.

It seems last year’s illumination period was extended a little to match the blooming schedule.

Depending on the weather and temperature, this year’s timing may end up being similar to last year, so there’s a chance the illumination period could be extended too.

Also, this was a little while ago, but as of 3/19, it seems one cherry tree toward the south side of Shukugawa was almost in full bloom.
