It looks like the nickname for the “Koyo Area Community Bus,” which runs through the Koyoen area, has finally been decided〜.
(Thanks to Pon-chan for the tip)
Koyotan!

Doesn’t it kind of feel inspired by Miyatan?! The name was chosen by a vote from local residents, and apparently there was a surprise comeback right at the very end.
Here are the vote totals again↓
- 1st: Koyotan (56 votes)
- 2nd: Koyo Liner (46 votes)
- 3rd: Kabuto-go (20 votes)
Now that the nickname has been decided, it looks like the bus will become even more familiar in the community as the “Koyotan Bus.”

Here’s what the bus looks like

The service uses a 10-passenger jumbo taxi (capacity: 9 passengers), making for a relaxed way to travel around the area.
A great season for a leisurely cherry blossom drive, too
In spring, you’ll find a few cherry blossom spots along the routes.

It might be nice to hop on the community bus and enjoy a little cherry blossom mini-drive feeling🌸 During past operations, there were apparently quite a few people who boarded in front of the station, rode around the loop, and came back simply to enjoy the scenery〜.
How many people are using it?
The target for the trial operation is “70 passengers per day.” According to totals through March 12, the average is 65 passengers per day. So close, just a little more!
By the way, on March 29 (Sat), there will also be a “Community Bus Anything Consultation Session”.
<Consultation Session Info>
Date: March 29 (Sat)
Locations: Yamabiko no Ie (1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.), Nishiyama Daiichi Park (4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.)
※Postponed to the following day in case of rain
Seems like it’s OK to ask things like this
- Where can I get on? Is there a bus stop near my house?
- What’s the timetable like? About how many buses are there per day?
- I heard you can ride while enjoying cherry blossoms. Which route do you recommend?
- How do you pay the fare? Are there coupon tickets?
- And so on. They say you can ask anything〜!
Finally
The “Koyotan Bus,” which runs leisurely through the streets of Koyoen, seems like a nice thing to hop on casually in the spring weather. For details such as routes and timetables, visit the Yamabiko-kai website.
