The butcher shop “牛之助” in Minami-Koshikiiwacho near Kurakuen-guchi Station has closed.

The signboard out front and other items had been removed. We’re not sure exactly when it closed, but according to the person who provided the information, it seems to have been open at least until around February.

Area around “和牛専門店 牛之介”
If you go this way, you’ll find places like the municipal Kita-Shukugawa Nursery School, and the residential area continues on.
In the opposite direction, you’ll find Flowers and the Koshikiiwa police box, and it leads out to Kurakuen-guchi Street.

According to online reviews, the shop apparently opened around 2010 and had a good reputation for offering quality meat, including Yamagata beef and Kagoshima wagyu, at reasonable prices. They also had prepared foods that could be fried on the spot, and the minced meat cutlet was especially popular. It’s truly a shame to see it close.
