It says the rules for driver’s license photos have been updated! Did you know? Apparently colored contacts, smiles, and colored backgrounds are now allowed. When I looked it up, it seems the change was made in October 2021.
A smile with your mouth closed and the corners of your mouth raised seems to be OK. If you didn’t know, give smiling a try～～
