CAMPFIRE｜Legendary Sanboa Curry Full Revival Project
The crowdfunding campaign was launched by APOLLO ASHIYA in Ashiya City. Its owner, Steve Miyata, fell in love with the curry from “Sanboa,” a diner in Nishinomiya-Kitaguchi that was once packed with students, and he has been serving a recreated version at his own restaurant.
This time, the project is all about finally delivering that curry nationwide in retort pouch form! 👏✨

What is Sanboa Curry?
For those who don’t know “Sanboa Curry,” let us give you a quick introduction〜
“Sanboa” was a diner in Nishinomiya-Kitaguchi that was popular with students from the Showa era through the early Heisei years.
It served a soupy curry with a distinctive heat and tang, topped with a small cutlet and cabbage. Somehow, it was completely addictive.
Even after the diner closed, people kept saying, “I want to eat it one more time!” The place that brought the flavor back was “Indigo,” a bar in Nishinomiya-Kitaguchi. It was loved by people who remembered those days, but that spot also sadly closed last December.
These days, it’s served only two days a week at “APOLLO ASHIYA” in Ashiya City. Now, in hopes of letting even more people enjoy the flavor, they’re taking on the challenge of turning it into a retort pouch curry〜!
