“I’d love to try playing in a tennis match with my child!”
But if you’re thinking, “We’re not really at that level yet…”
No worries! A perfect event for families like yours is starting this year〜🎾
1st Nishinomiya Citizens Junior Tennis Festival
The “Parent-Child Doubles Tournament,” held every December by the Nishinomiya City Tennis Association, is getting a fresh new start this year! It’s being reborn as the “Nishinomiya Citizens Junior Tennis Festival”〜!

What kind of tournament is it?
There are two parts!
- A level-based tournament for pairs of an adult (working adults only) and an elementary school student
- A tournament limited to junior class participants for kids who don’t have an adult partner (they’ll pair up with a coach!)
You don’t have to be an actual “parent and child” pair!
Grandparents and grandchildren, a neighborhood older brother or sister, or even a working adult cousin can join. Basically, as long as it’s a pair of an adult and an elementary school student, you’re good to go🎾

Recommended for people like this!
- Families who want to make sports memories together
- Kids who want to try out what they’ve practiced in a real match
- Anyone who wants to have fun interacting with local children
The actual tournament has a warm, friendly atmosphere full of smiles! Coaches will also be nearby to give advice, so it’s perfect for a first match debut✨

Some people get hooked after joining with their child!
“I picked up a racket for the first time in ages, and hitting with my child was so much fun!” “Even if we lose, being able to laugh together is the best!” There are plenty of comments like that☺️ Once you try it, it might become your annual tradition〜!?
Final Thoughts
Even though it’s called a tournament, the atmosphere isn’t intense or intimidating. It’s a very Nishinomiya-style tennis event where families can laugh and have fun together. Why not join and make one last great memory of 2025?
