Nishi2 reader Rojindo Shujin spotted interior construction work going on on the 1st floor of Frente. This is the spot where “Izakaya Man” used to be until this January.
What is “Tsukiji Gindaco Highball Sakaba”?
“Tsukiji Gindaco Highball Sakaba” is a bar-style restaurant run by Tsukiji Gindaco, the takoyaki chain that originated in the Kanto region. It’s a place where you can enjoy drinks alongside piping-hot, fragrant takoyaki that’s crispy on the outside and melty inside. They also apparently have a full lineup of snack-style dishes, including skewers, fried chicken, and octopus dishes.

Tools were lined up all across the front of the shop, and construction was clearly in full swing! We’re looking forward to seeing it finished🙌 For anyone who’s been missing a place to casually grab a quick drink on the way home after Izakaya Man closed, this should be welcome news😄
