KitKats were being handed out for free at Hankyu Nishinomiya Gardens.

Look at that crowd! Of course people are going to line up for this.
Staff members handed out KitKats to each person one by one.
The total was an incredible about 43,200 pieces!
Here’s what was actually handed out.
There were two kinds of KitKats inside.
How the Number Handed Out Was Calculated
From 10:00 to 16:50, for about six hours excluding the talk show time in between, they were handing them out at a pace of one person per second.
3,600 people per hour × 6 hours = 21,600 people (sets)
Each set contained two KitKats, so that means about 43,200 pieces were handed out. That’s the estimate.
What Kind of Event Was It?
This event was called “KitKat Kurabe”.

It was an event where everyone got to compare which they preferred: the classic KitKat or the mildly sweet “Otona” KitKat.
Inside the mall, there was also the actual rickshaw that Gump Suzuki used during his challenge to travel from Fukuoka Prefecture to Tokyo while handing out KitKats. There were also support messages written on it, which made it feel very real.
Finally
In the 16:00 hour, you could get a KitKat without waiting, but during peak hours, it seems the line stretched all the way to “KALDI Coffee Farm” in the Welcome Garden. (That’s roughly over 100 meters.) The KitKat event will also be held on November 2. They have prepared quite a lot of KitKats, but the event ends once they run out, so if you want one, get there early!
