What’s different from before?
According to the official Hankyu and Hanshin Railway websites, starting in 2026 it has become a “digital special ticket.”
Here’s a quick summary of the differences.
- It has become an electronic ticket (a QR code on your smartphone)
→Convenient on the one hand, but sad news for people who collected paper or magnetic tickets. - Child tickets have been discontinued
→This may be inconvenient for families who enjoyed New Year shrine visits and hopping on and off trains together. - It is now sold online only
→Please note that you can’t buy it at stations🚧
ニューイヤーチケットのデジタル化どう思う?
Finally
The New Year Ticket🎫 is an annual tradition. Many people probably look forward to it every year. From this time on, the move to digital will change how it’s used, but the value remains the same, so it’s something you’ll want to make good use of.
*Kazunoko Taro, thank you very much for the information!!
