It looks like the cherry blossoms are blooming in the plaza in front of Nishinomiya City Hall.

They’re blooming pretty nicely!
This is an early-blooming Nishinomiya variety called Imazu Benikanzakura. They were blooming at Daito Park last time too.
Various cherry blossom varieties have been planted in front of Nishinomiya City Hall, where the plaza has been beautifully renovated. Shukugawa Maizakura is another cherry blossom variety born in Nishinomiya.
A tree-planting ceremony was held on April 1 last year.
Still, the shiny gold ceremonial shovels are really nice!
From here on, it looks like different varieties will start blooming at different times. Since cherry blossoms are Nishinomiya’s “city flower,” it’ll be fun to watch them grow from here too. 🌸
