Here’s a little update from Ichiriyama-cho, where all kinds of cherry blossoms are blooming — including one especially unusual variety〜

The address is around 15 and 16 Ichiriyama-cho, Nishinomiya, Hyogo.
This one is called Fugenzo Sakura(ふげんぞうさくら),
and apparently it got its name because it resembles the trunk of the elephant that Samantabhadra Bodhisattva rides on. This image was created with AI〜

This is another rare cherry blossom with a greenish tint.
This one is called Ukon Sakura(うこんざくら). The name is made up of the characters for gloom, gold, and cherry blossom. Pretty impactful name. The name comes from ukon（turmeric）,
because the color of the flowers is said to resemble cloth dyed with turmeric. Honestly, I’m not even sure what color turmeric is supposed to be〜
There are also weeping cherry blossoms and others blooming here, so it might be fun to check out some varieties beyond the usual classic cherry blossoms〜
