The program was about the difference between “Koshien” and “Koshienguchi”. It seems a lot of people really do mix them up.
During high school baseball season, you’ll see notices like this at JR and Hankyu stations.
“Koshienguchi” means exactly what its name says: “the entrance to Koshien.” Apparently, there’s a historical background where the local municipality tried to attract a station by using the nationally famous name “Koshien.”
By the way, “Kurakuenguchi” also means “the entrance to Kurakuen.” The Kurakuen area is more than 3 km from the station. The station’s address is 1-22 Ishibanecho
In Closing
The nearest station to Koshien Stadium is Koshien Station, but if you’re likely to get confused transferring at Umeda, I think it’s also a good option to go to Koshienguchi Station and transfer to a Hanshin Bus. On baseball game days,extra buses also run, so the JR route isn’t wrong either!
