It looks like “Henri Charpentier” will be featured on TV Osaka’s “Moshi Mane,” airing late tonight, Thursday, May 28, from 26:00.
(Thanks to Wanko-san for the tip)
The program will apparently cover the shop’s history, which began as a cafe in Ashiya, the behind-the-scenes story of how its financiers, said to sell at a rate of one every 1.1 seconds, were created, episodes about the founder and his family, and the slightly surprising origin of the shop’s name. It also looks like they’ll introduce special sweets that can only be enjoyed at the Ashiya main store.
This broadcast is actually a rerun, and you can also watch the archive on YouTube.

Founded in 1969, Henri Charpentier has now even been recognized by Guinness World Records as having the “world’s best-selling financier.” In the program, various stories from the company’s history are presented through reenacted drama scenes, and it’s full of moments that make you go, “Oh, really?” about the Henri treats we’re so used to eating. The program is about 45 minutes long, but it goes by in no time.

The program also features former professional tennis player Naoko Sawamatsu, who is from Nishinomiya. She spoke with plenty of love for Henri, including delicious ways to enjoy Henri’s financiers and madeleines.

Recently, Henri has also started taking preorders from May 21 for its new sweet, the “Financier Sandwich Ice Cream,” so watching the program might make you want to try some.
