We received a tip that the invasive alien species “オオキンケイギク” (Coreopsis lanceolata) is growing in clusters along Rinko Line.

The location is along Rinko Line, around the area from the Minami-Koshien intersection to the Imazu Port intersection.
It seems to be seen mainly in the planted strips on the outbound side and inside the adjacent prefectural housing complex.

オオキンケイギク is a plant that blooms with vivid yellow flowers from around May to July.
It was apparently once used for greening and gardening, but because it spreads aggressively and may take over habitats where native plants grow, it has been designated as a specified invasive alien species.
It may look beautiful, but cultivating, storing, transporting, and similar handling are generally prohibited. Violations may be subject to penalties.
Lastly
Since this is a flower many people often see close to home, quite a few may be thinking, “Wait, this was a specified invasive alien species?” It has pretty yellow flowers, so you might be tempted to take some home, but if you spot it, please do not pick it or bring it back with you. Just leave it as it is.
