TRIAL Mukogawa Store will temporarily close today, 6/14 (Sun), for renovations. It has been announced that it will reopen after renovation at 9:00 on June 25 (Thu)〜

What will change when it becomes “TRIAL Smart”?

“TRIAL Smart” seems to be a store focused mainly on food, fresh produce, prepared foods, and daily necessities.
The current TRIAL Mukogawa Store carries clothing, home appliances, car goods, outdoor items, and more in addition to food and daily necessities, but after the renovation, these sections may be scaled down or possibly removed. The store hours will apparently remain the same, with 24-hour operation.
According to the job listing, it looks like “Register Carts (Skip Cart)” may also be newly introduced. It seems shoppers scan items with the cart as they shop, then pay by passing through a dedicated checkout lane at the end. Think something close to AEON’s Regi Go.The flow around the checkout area may change too〜
Payment methods likely won’t change much from before, with cash, TRIAL’s reloadable prepaid card, SU-PAY, and similar options being the main methods〜. It seems you can also get useful coupons if you install the TRIAL＋ app

Final Thoughts
In recent years, TRIAL has apparently been moving forward with smart-store upgrades in various locations, introducing things like register carts, AI cameras, and digital signage. The Mukogawa Store may be getting closer to that trend too〜. It would be great if shopping becomes even more convenient😄
