General anesthesia (equipment for general anesthesia, which is rare at a dental clinic. You can receive dental treatment while asleep under general anesthesia.)

Finally, we interviewed the director, Dr. Hideki Kodama.

Dr. Kodama, what made you become a dentist?

Ever since I was little, I was sensitive to pain and easily scared, so I really hated going to the dentist.

So you had cavities, huh? (^^) But if the doctor himself understands being scared and sensitive to pain, patients can feel more at ease.

Because I was so sensitive to pain and easily scared, our clinic’s phone number is 0798-65-1971itakunai, which means “no pain” in Japanese. (laughs)

Oh, really? (laughs)

I saw your profile, and your highest degree is from Keio University Graduate School. After becoming a dentist, what did you study there?

At Keio University Graduate School, I graduated from the Graduate School of Business Administration. To put it simply, I studied management.

That’s why you’re able to smoothly run a clinic with 17 dentists and 90 staff members.

Rather than “running it smoothly,” when I think about what’s best for patients, it’s impossible for one director alone to master every field of dentistry, such as cavities, periodontal disease, implants, whitening, oral surgery, dentistry for people with disabilities, and general anesthesia. I believe we can provide better treatment by bringing together specialists in each field and practicing medicine as a team.

Anytime..illness doesn’t take holidays! We are open all year round.

For anyone..whether you are healthy, have a chronic illness, are bedridden, or have a disability, whether you are receiving insured treatment, private treatment, or public assistance, we aim to provide better medical care equally to everyone.

Forever..we also provide home-visit treatment for elderly patients and others.

Lastly, please tell us your favorite food and any restaurants you’ve been going to often lately.

My favorite food is gyoza. A place I go to often is Bee-Hot, a curry restaurant on the 1st floor of ACTA Nishinomiya West Building. I often have the omelet beef curry.
