Earlier this month, we published an article saying that “Spoon Cafe” in Mondo-Yakujin had closed on May 31, and after that, we received many messages from readers who were sad to see it go.
But it looks like it will be making a fresh start on September 1 as “NAGASAKIYA ROASTERY.”

It looks like the shop will be renewed as “a place with delicious apple pie and house-roasted coffee” (^O^)／
The owner is NAGASAKI TAIZO, who was the chief at Spoon Cafe!
The notice says, “We’re preparing with construction scheduled to begin around mid-July, looking forward to seeing everyone again.”
In Closing
From the Nagasakiya coffee shop, this place has been loved by locals for 45 years!
We were feeling really sad about Spoon Cafe closing, so it’s wonderful to hear that someone close to the former owner will be opening a new shop (^ ^)
