Wagashi Kohaku’s Shaved Ice “Kori Warabi” and “Amaou Strawberry Shaved Ice” Near Hinoike Park [Nishitsu Gourmet]

On the way from Kurakuen-guchi Station toward Hinoike Park, there’s a Japanese sweets shop called “こはく” ヽ(^o^)丿

Their sweets are also available at Hankyu Nishinomiya↓

This time, I went to try their seasonal treat available from June to September:

“kakigori” shaved ice!

“Kori Warabi” ¥900 (before tax) ← This time I had the kids’ size

Inside the generous mound of kuromitsu brown sugar syrup and kinako soybean flour-flavored ice…

Out come jiggly, chewy warabi mochi ヽ(^o^)丿

It really has that Japanese sweets shop flavor!

I never knew kinako and shaved ice went so well together!!

“Amaou Strawberry Kakigori” ¥850 (before tax) ← This one is also the kids’ size

Look at it! It’s packed with that pulpy strawberry texture!

The strawberry aroma drifting over as soon as it arrived already smelled delicious!!

The “Amaou Strawberry Kakigori” usually sells out by mid-July every year.

It’s so strawberry-packed, it feels like you’re eating the fruit itself (*^^)v

They seemed to be taking solid COVID-19 precautions, with hand sanitizer at the entrance, proper partitions at the seats, and signs asking customers to wear masks when chatting after eating ヽ(^o^)丿
