A while back at Shinrin Park, I found some bumpy-looking things in the woods,
and this time I found something small, white, and round by the roadside (^O^)／
It’s the kind of mushroom that looks tempting in autumn, the season for good food!
But hold on a second!
This is the poisonous mushroom Chlorophyllum molybdites
※As for its toxicity, eating it can cause gastrointestinal poisoning symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach pain.
It looks similar to the edible “Parasol Mushroom,” so be careful not to eat it by mistake ^^;
It looks pretty much the same from the other side!
Chlorophyllum molybdites is said to grow in clusters in fertile soil such as grassy areas, urban areas, and parks.
Since it is a species often found in tropical and subtropical regions, it used to be confirmed in Japan only in places like Okinawa,
but now it seems to be found across a much wider area.
Could it be because of global warming? (^_^;)
From above it looked perfectly round, but it seems like more might still pop up.
After this, the cap apparently opens up ^ – ^
