Yumiba-cho, which we previously featured as a quiz on Nishitsu (*^^)v
I spotted this while waiting at a traffic light on Route 43!
Wow～Yumiba～ Just like Nishinomiya!
But it’s not a town name, it’s a line name!
And the reading is different tooー
This one is read “Yumiba” ＼(^o^)／
It seems that Kobe’s Yumiba was also recorded as “Yumiba-cho” in the “Mikage Village History.”
Even today, it’s a traditional local area used for festivals (danjiri festivals),
so it seems there may be a bit of common ground with the origin of Nishinomiya’s “Yumiba-cho”: long ago, there were rice fields belonging to Susanoo Shrine, and the place where a Shinto ritual was held to divine good or bad harvests with a bow became the aza place name, eventually leading to the current town name… ヽ(^o^)丿
