Bicycles seem to get swallowed up at the park in front of Nishinomiya-Kitaguchi Station
We once wrote an article about that, but
when we happened to pass by in the evening (the video was taken at 17:15),
we found a tree in the middle of the park where sparrows gather one after another in the evening, almost as if they’re being sucked in!

Here’s the video ↓
We tried to count exactly how many gathered in three minutes, but it was impossible… It felt like around 100 birds, maybe ^^;
The reason sparrows gather in large numbers to sleep is
to avoid danger from predators
and it seems to be mostly young sparrows that have left their parents gathering together ヽ(^o^)丿
In the past, this was seen in bamboo groves and thickets in the mountains, but now it can also be seen in residential areas and city centers.
Apparently, this is called a communal roost!
Their chirping is really something, and I’m sure the droppings must be quite something too
Here it is on the map ↓
The address is 2 Kofuen, Nishinomiya City.
