At Ikari Supermarket Shukugawa,
I found a bottle of Japanese sake with “Jurinji” written on the label in beautiful calligraphy \(^o^)/I couldn’t find it at the Ikari Supermarket near Mondo Yakujin
Jurinji is a place we’ve covered on Nishitsu several times↓
“Jurinji” is both the name of a temple and the name of a town (*^^)v
There’s a town name Jurinji, and another town name Jurinji-cho, and the Jurinji temple is located in Jurinji-cho \(^o^)/
It kind of feels like a tongue twister, and a little mysterious too.
And now, here comes the sake!

It says it’s a dry junmai ginjo nama-zake genshu,
and bam! there’s “Jurinji” written in bold calligraphy. It looks like an original Ikari product!
We had to find out whether this is connected to Jurinji temple!
So we called the temple to ask.
Here’s the answer↓
“The family temple of Ikari’s chairman is Jurinji, so Ikari planned this product.
The label was written by the temple’s chief priest.”
That’s what they told us \(^o^)/
Lastly
It would have given us even more to talk about if the maker had been a Nishinomiya brewery, but it turned out to be Sakuramasamune, a company in Higashinada Ward, Kobe ^_^;
Well, it’s in the Nada Gogo area, so it’s kind of like a neighbor.
It’s currently being stored in the company fridge, so it looks like the tasting will have to wait a little while (#^.^#)
Oh, and Jurinji is a beautiful spot for autumn leaves, so why not stop by during the coming season?
