It looks like a grey heron, often seen around Katahoko Pond, had made its way out onto the road.
It’s rare to see one walking along the road, so it was getting a lot of attention😀

Apparently, grey herons are birds related to pelicans~
Now that you mention it, they do look kind of pelican-like.
