Most of them are still buds, but some are definitely blooming〜🌸
According to Japan Meteorological Corporation’s 2021 Cherry Blossom Forecast for Blooming and Full Bloom (7th update), cherry blossoms are expected to bloom much earlier than average across Japan.
They’re still mostly buds, so from a distance they look almost like bare branches!
The cherry blossoms that were blooming were around here↓↓
It’s along the Shukugawa riverbed, between Shukugawa Station and Kurakuen-guchi, around the area with playground equipment like horizontal bars.
When walking from Shukugawa Station to Kurakuen-guchi, there were also some cherry blossoms blooming just before the playground equipment😀So cute〜
Since they’re still mostly buds, it might be nice to take a leisurely walk while looking for the blossoms that have already opened〜

Wait, they’re blooming so much already😀
Apparently, this spot is near Koyoen Honjocho Elementary School, at the former municipal housing site beside Oike.
According to Japan Meteorological Corporation, the first Somei Yoshino cherry blossoms observed in Japan this year were in Hiroshima on March 11. That was far earlier than Hiroshima’s previous earliest blooming record of March 19 (2004), making it the earliest bloom ever recorded there〜
But if the cherry trees near Koyoen Honjocho Elementary School are Somei Yoshino, wouldn’t that mean they bloomed even earlier than Hiroshima〜
In other words, they were the first in the whole country😆
It looks like the cherry blossoms in Shukugawa may reach full bloom earlier than usual this year〜
