During the three months of school closures, children of every age group saw their eyesight get worse. But even now, more than 40% of elementary school students have vision below 1.0〜😳💦
That surprised me too😱
Actually, my own child’s eyesight got much worse during the school closures, and she ended up becoming a glasses girl…
By the way, the percentage of elementary and junior high school students in Nishinomiya City with vision below 1.0 (children with myopia) is apparently higher than the national average😱
In response to this situation, Nishinomiya City has stepped up💪!!

In cooperation with the Nishinomiya City Medical Association, the city will be promoting efforts to protect children’s eyes through a campaign called “Miyacco Eye Care 5”.
It kind of sounds like their eyes are being protected by some kind of ranger team♪

There are five points, such as after looking at a screen or book for 20 minutes, look at something more than 6 meters away for 20 seconds! and don’t overuse your eyes before going to bed!
They may sound obvious, but I wonder if they’re actually not followed as much as we think🤔

With tablets being distributed to elementary and junior high school students in Nishinomiya City, we’re entering an era where children’s eyes will be used even more intensely!
