In 2023, we went around to see what New Year’s in Nishinomiya was like, so here’s a look. After reading this, you should be able to talk about what New Year’s is like in Nishinomiya.
Most of these are from New Year’s Day, January 1, and January 2.
January 1

A lot of people were there. So many cars came that this may be the one day of the year when this parking lot gets the most crowded. It wasn’t full, though. Apparently it can hold around 700 cars.
Omaehama, near the very end of the Shukugawa River.
There were also lots of people on the drawbridge.

This year, the food stalls were back too, and it was lively.

At Koshikiiwa Shrine, there was a long line stretching all the way to the approach.

Yakujin-san was this crowded. A huge number of people had come. There were also a few food stalls outside.

This was the scene in front of Mondo Yakujin Station at around 2 p.m. on New Year’s Day. Packed with people.
There are usually a lot of cars, but on this day it felt even busier.
Around Nishinomiya-Kitaguchi↓
Around 2:30 p.m. on New Year’s Day. The northwest exit of the station. There were only a few people here and there.
There wasn’t much foot traffic around the shopping street either.
The railroad crossing is in the back. Usually, quite a few cars pass through here, but there wasn’t a single one.
The bicycle parking area in front of ACTA. The bikes were there, but the people had vanished. Where did everyone go?
The southwest side was this empty too.
But
Nishinomiya Gardens was crowded!
