An official notice appeared on the website of “Hyogo College of Nutrition, Culinary and Confectionery” in Kita Showa-cho, Nishinomiya Kitaguchi, announcing that the school will stop accepting new students from the 2020 academic year onward. After checking the site in detail, it appears that the school has decided to close at the end of March 2021.
It is one of the few schools in Nishinomiya that trains nutritionists, cooks, and confectionery hygiene specialists, and it has been involved with the local community in many ways over the years, so the news of its closure is both shocking and deeply regrettable.
Just the other day, it was lively as the venue for the Nishinomiya Western Confectionery Garden Party, and I had only just gone there to cover the event myself, so I am truly surprised.
