Reconstruction work has begun at Yasui Elementary School.
It looks like the children are already having classes in temporary prefab school buildings, but they turned out to be impressively proper school buildings!

The Temporary Buildings at Yasui Elementary School

Look! It’s actually three stories tall!
I was imagining something like a small two-story shed, but times have really changed 😂
It looks like they’ve even built an entrance area, maybe where the shoe lockers for indoor shoes are?

Of course, it’s fully equipped with air conditioning too 🖕
Yasui Elementary School is apparently moving ahead with rebuilding work,
aiming to complete the new school building by the end of Reiwa 4 fiscal year, or fiscal 2022.
Updates on the reconstruction work are being posted on the elementary school’s website → here
The Old School Building

It’s completely surrounded by fencing.

One end had a transparent fence, so we could see what was going on inside!

This is what the current progress looks like.

There was an overview of the construction plan posted!
Here is the rendering of the completed building ↓

Rooftop greenery, and even the pool will be on the roof!
The school building and gymnasium will be connected by a passageway, too. It’s exciting to imagine the finished result♪

The address is 1-25 Yasui-cho, Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture.
Finally
For the reconstruction of Harukaze Elementary School, they built the new school building first and then demolished the old one, but there really are all kinds of ways to do it!
As adults, we tend to think prefab school buildings must be tough because they’re hot in summer and cold in winter 😰 but my own child once studied in a prefab school building too, and apparently it was surprisingly comfortable! After all, they do have heating and air conditioning 😅
