“Burnable garbage 15L” is the same size as a large supermarket shopping bag! (The only shopping bag I had on hand was all crumpled up…🙏)
I think a lot of people currently throw out garbage in supermarket shopping bags, so this should make it easy to switch to the designated bags without changing your lifestyle!
“Burnable garbage 45L” is the size of a standard garbage bag.
There’s also a “Burnable garbage 30L”, which is about the size of two shopping bags.
As for the material… it’s semi-transparent, but you can see through it quite a bit😅
It’s a little thinner than a supermarket shopping bag.
Since it’s made with environmentally friendly materials, I guess it can’t be helped that it’s thin!

Nishinomiya City is adopting a “simple designated bag” system, meaning the cost of garbage disposal fees is not included in the price of the bags.
The reason the price is higher is because they use environmentally friendly materials〜🤔

At the moment, in addition to “Super Center Trial Mukogawa,” it looks like the designated bags are also sold at these stores.

- “Burnable garbage” and “other plastics” must be put out in garbage bags with these nice designs
- Flat bags come in “45 liters,” “30 liters,” and “15 liters”
- Bags with handles come in “30 liters,” “15 liters,” and “5 liters”
- They are expected to be sold at supermarkets, home centers, convenience stores, and other shops
- From now through the end of March, Reiwa 4, there will be a transition period, and both commercially available garbage bags and designated garbage bags may be used
※From April 1, Reiwa 4, garbage put out in anything other than designated bags will not be collected
※Even if designated garbage bags are used, garbage that does not follow sorting rules will not be collected
※Garbage bag prices vary by retailer (Because they are not sold by the city, each retailer sets the selling price, just like regular commercially available garbage bags)

The 45L black garbage bags I’m using at home right now come in packs of 50 for 398 yen, so the designated bags are a little more expensive, but I was relieved that the price was more normal than I’d imagined😌
And since prices vary by store, we might eventually be able to buy them a little cheaper〜!
Starting in April, it looks like garbage will only be collected if it’s in the designated garbage bags, so try not to stock up too much on your current bags and make the switch smoothly💁
