Looks like the summer-only menu has started at Jankara, the karaoke chain everyone knows.
They’re offering curry, noodles, and four kinds of shaved ice as summer desserts.
Since we were there, we decided to give it a try.

Jankara Hanshin Nishinomiya
It had actually been quite a while since I last went to Jankara.
There are also Jankara locations in Nishinomiya at Kitaguchi and Imazu, but this time we went to the Hanshin Nishinomiya branch.
The Hanshin Nishinomiya branch has a spacious waiting area, and one of its features is that the bicycle parking area is inside the building.
After checking in, we headed to the karaoke room.
This location has lots of rooms, too.
Spicy Curry Fair & Goku-Men Noodles
There’s not much point in showing you photos of me singing (though I did sing), so let’s get right to the summer-only menu.
Here’s the summer-only curry and noodle menu.
Everything looks good, and above all, it’s cheap.
This time we ordered the “Korokoro Chicken Curry” (490 yen) and the “Chilled Kara-Kara Noodles – with the aroma of Sichuan pepper” (490 yen).
This is the Korokoro Chicken Curry.
It’s curry topped with pieces of fried chicken.
It’s tasty, but not as spicy as you might expect.
I finished it in no time.
This is the Chilled Kara-Kara Noodles.
It looks delicious, but be careful!
This is spicy!!
If you don’t handle spicy food well, you may want to avoid it.
I’m not particularly bad with spicy food, but even I had a hard time eating it.
My tongue kept tingling for a while even after I finished…
On the other hand, if you love spicy food, this might be perfect for you.
Summer Desserts
Here are the four kinds of shaved ice on the summer dessert menu.
They all look good, but I decided to try the strawberry condensed milk one (440 yen).
This is the strawberry condensed milk shaved ice.
The shaved ice is topped with condensed milk, strawberry syrup, and something like strawberry jam, with ice cream sitting right on top.
It’s not very stable…
It’s also hard to know where to start eating.
The bottom part is easier to eat, but if you keep eating from the bottom, the ice cream on top starts tumbling down.
People who can eat shaved ice neatly deserve respect.
So, after a bit of trial and error, I kept eating.
It’s sweet and delicious.
Since my mouth was still tingling from the Kara-Kara Noodles, it tasted even better.
Shaved ice after eating the Kara-Kara Noodles is highly recommended.
Other Menu Items
Jankara also has a wide regular menu.
You probably already know this, but we’ll introduce it anyway.
Well, in any case, it’s cheap.
The lineup is so extensive that it rivals specialty restaurants.
There are lots of drinks, too.
They even have soft drinks and cocktails made with voice-care drinks.
I wonder if they still work on your throat when mixed with alcohol?
