It looks like “Ebessan Children’s Festival (61st Nishinomiya Dadai Kagura Festival)” will be held at Nishinomiya Shrine on Friday, May 5 (national holiday).
Apparently, this will be the first time in four years since it was last held in 2019!!
(Thanks to Hamaamu-san, Sasako-san, and Iroha-san for the information!)

It looks like they’ll be selling “participation tickets” (1,000 yen in advance, 1,200 yen on the day), which include a set with a shrine talisman, souvenirs, raffle, and tickets to join the games!
Advance tickets can be purchased at Nishinomiya Shrine, as well as at “Liquor Shop Okayama” and “Mandari” in the Nishinomiya Chuo Shopping Street👍

There will be lots of activities kids love, like a mini Shinkansen, a mystery-solving game tournament, and a children’s ring toss tournament🙆
If you also get a shrine talisman and souvenirs, doesn’t the 1,200-yen participation ticket sound like a pretty good deal😊?
Finally
So it’s being held for the first time in four years!! My kids were exactly the right age for the “Children’s Festival” during the COVID period, but they grew up without ever getting to take part… (tears)
But there’s no point dwelling on it!!
This year, festivals seem like they’ll be coming back almost as they used to be, so I’m planning to actively join festivals all over the area🙋
Hamaamu-san, Sasako-san, and Iroha-san, thank you for the information!!
