It looks like Nishinomiya Hankyu will be holding a cutting show for “Kindai Tuna.”
(This information was provided by Iroha, a Nishitsu supporter. Thank you!)
Here it is ↓
A cutting show for the famous Kindai Tuna. Both tuna cutting shows and Kindai Tuna itself are pretty rare, so it really feels like a 15th anniversary event.
Location: Hankyu Daily Mart fresh fish section “Nishinomiya Uohama”
Date and time: 11/4(Sat) from 2:00 p.m. (about 15 minutes)
They’ll also be selling rare cuts, apparently.

A quick explanation of Kindai Tuna
Kindai Tuna is actually the world’s first fully farm-raised Pacific bluefin tuna. The entire process takes place at aquaculture facilities, and it’s gaining attention as a way to help protect marine resources. Apparently, they have a solid integrated management system in place to provide safe and delicious tuna. The tuna are raised with the help of natural conditions, in areas with fast currents and low water temperatures, where they’re carefully grown over time.
In Closing
We previously went to see a tuna cutting show at Hanshin Nishinomiya, and it was incredibly lively. The tuna is sold right there on the spot, and rare cuts are available too. It’s not exactly an auction, but they ask things like “How about this one?” so maybe that unusual, special-event feeling is what makes it so fun. It’s happening next Saturday.
