There’s a Japanese restaurant called “葵” near Koshienguchi Station, serving kappo-style cuisine and small dishes.
It’s a little away from the shopping street, so it might be hard to spot at first, but apparently they’re planning to take part in the “Koshienguchi Bar & Marche” on November 10.
This time, I stopped by during lunchtime and tried their lunch menu.

Dining Place “葵” Food
I’ll introduce them later, but there are two types of lunch menus.
This time, I ordered the “Lunch Course” (1,375 yen), where you can enjoy small portions of sashimi, tempura, simmered dishes, and grilled dishes.
First up is this.
It comes with “rice,” “miso soup,” “sashimi,” and a “simmered dish.”
The miso soup was akadashi red miso soup.
Just as you’d imagine from the photo, it was delicious Japanese food.
The simmered dish was lightly seasoned, just the way I like it.
Next is the “tempura.”
The batter was thin and fried nice and crisp.
The flavors of the vegetables really came through, and it was delicious.
And this is the “grilled dish.”
It was some kind of fish marinated in miso (I couldn’t quite tell what kind of fish it was…).
I’m not sure what fish it was, but it was rich and fatty, and very tasty.
“Dessert” is included too.
This was matcha pudding.
It had a refreshing sweetness with just the right amount of bitterness.
For the final drink, you can choose either “coffee” or “tea.”
I chose “hot coffee.”
Overall, I felt like I’d eaten quite a lot throughout the course.
Being able to enjoy this kind of course for lunch seems like a pretty great deal.

The “Lunch Course” I had lets you enjoy small portions of sashimi and tempura, while the “Selectable Course” apparently lets you choose either sashimi or tempura and enjoy it generously served on a large plate.
