What are cooling shelters?
They are temporary evacuation spaces where the city opens up air-conditioned public facilities to help prevent heatstroke during extreme heat. Anyone can use them for free, and some locations also appear to have water dispensers.

Things to keep in mind
- Please refrain from using the facilities for long periods of time or doing anything that may disturb others.
- Please bring your own drinks. (Some facilities have water dispensers. Please bring your own bottle.)
- Seating is limited, so please be considerate and share the space.
- Please note that temperature adjustments cannot be made.

Finally
This year has been seriously hot, and as someone who really can’t handle the heat, I can’t go without my handheld fan, cooling towel, and water bottle🥵💦 Even on dangerously hot days, there are times when you just have to go out. It’s really helpful that places like these are open for free where people can cool down.
