A gyoza specialty shop called “Bonten” has opened in the shopping street south of Hanshin Nishinomiya Station.

Kobe Motomachi Nidaime “Bonten” Area Information
This is what the entrance looks like.
You can see a rather intense-looking character reflected in the window, but that’s from the sign of the slot parlor across the street.
Don’t worry, there isn’t actually a post-apocalyptic-looking character inside this shop.
Across from the shop is the slot parlor “King Kong.”

Next door is “Uobiyori.”

Once you exit the shopping street entrance, there’s a FamilyMart.
Kobe Motomachi Nidaime “Bonten” Food
Since I was there, I had lunch.
This is the “set meal” (700 yen).
It comes with two servings of gyoza, rice, and soup.
The gyoza were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, exactly the kind of delicious gyoza you’d expect from a specialty shop.
The filling had the flavor of minced meat, of course, but you could also taste the sweetness of the vegetables, probably cabbage.
The dipping sauce is a little unusual: you mix it yourself with miso sauce, vinegar, soy sauce, and chili oil.
The miso sauce in particular was delicious. It made the gyoza easy to keep eating and also went well with the rice.
If you want more acidity, add more vinegar; if you want more heat, add more chili oil. You can make the sauce just the way you like it.
