According to the Kobe Shimbun and other sources, Nishinomiya fourth grader “Shogo Ando” (age 9) has become the youngest person ever to pass Level 1 of the Mathematics Certification Test.

The Mathematics Certification Test began in 1992 and is held three times a year, and Level 1 is said to be at the level of a science or engineering university graduate!
Ando apparently studied on his own by watching YouTube and other resources, and impressively passed Level 1.
His dream for the future is to “conduct research to stop global warming,” so we can look forward to seeing what he does next.
