There’s a Thai restaurant called “イサラ” on the east side of Hankyu Kotoen Station.
It’s a well-known local favorite that has been loved for many years.
This “イサラ” was also featured in “Nishinomiya Gourmet Masters.”
This was our first time visiting a Thai restaurant for a food feature.

Thai Restaurant “イサラ” Food
They have an extensive menu, but this time we ordered the great-value “Tuk-tuk Set” course for 1,800 yen.

First up was soup.
The famous “Tom Yum Goong.”
Apparently, “tom” means to boil, “yam” means to mix, and “goong” means shrimp.
It’s a soup with a strong sourness, but it wasn’t as spicy as it looked.
The seafood umami and herbal aroma really came through, making it a delicious soup.

This is a “Vietnamese-style fresh spring roll.”
You eat it with chili sauce, and this chili sauce was spicy.
If you like spicy food, pour on plenty.
The filling was delicious, of course, and the wrapper was pleasantly chewy too.

Next was “Gai Yang,” grilled chicken thigh.
It’s seasoned with lemongrass flavor and served with sauce poured over it.
The flavor of the chicken is really brought out well.
This one isn’t spicy at all.

This is “Thai curry (green).”
It contains coconut milk, so it has sweetness, but it’s also quite spicy.
The flavors of the vegetables and meat were concentrated, creating a complex and wonderfully mysterious taste.
The rice is “jasmine rice.”
For people above a certain age, it’s the nostalgic “Thai rice.”

For those who want to add more heat, there’s this.
It’s chili fish sauce.
I tried adding a little, and it increased not only the spiciness but also the deliciousness, so if you like spicy food, give it a try.

Dessert was “annin tofu.”
It’s regular annin tofu topped with Thai fruits and nata de coco.
Their passion for letting you enjoy Thai cuisine comes through all the way to dessert.
It was a course where you could fully enjoy Thai food.

This is the menu.
In addition to a la carte dishes, they also have a great selection of set menus and course menus.
It’s not shown here, but their hot pot is also recommended.
