Many people probably think of Hanshin Railway’s two-tone “Blue Body” and “Red Body” trains when they hear the name.
The “Red Body” trains, once used for limited express and express services, have disappeared from the Hanshin Main Line and are now used only on the Hanshin Mukogawa Line within Nishinomiya.

This is the “Red Body” train.
It has been in use for over 40 years, but the paint still looks beautifully maintained.
Tetsudo Press reports that these “Red Body” trains will be replaced with new train cars by the end of March 2020.

The reason given is that “the train type is old and cannot support barrier-free accessibility.”
However, Hanshin Electric Railway has not officially announced the replacement of these trains.
This is simply something that Tetsudo Press has reported.
Just to be sure, we also contacted Hanshin Electric Railway, but they said the same thing: no official announcement has been made.
Will the “Red Body” trains really disappear?
